Bridal Body Shapes: What Dress Should I Wear?

Hellloo all of you beautiful Brides!! It's been a while since I've written but I've got something special for you this time! We always hear girls asking "what dress would look good on my body?" or "I can't wear that shape because of...." SOOOO, we thought we would use our lovely snowy Sunday to try bridal gowns on the Blog girls that you've come to know...

Amber: 5'2", I'm built like a boy, extremely short (read: THICK) waisted. I did cheat and wear heels but what short girl wouldn't?!

Left: Alfred Angelo, gorgeous gown but it made me look even more square than I am.
Right: Grandma, this is THE DRESS!! Maggie Sottero's Alicia, PRETTY PLEASE?!? I felt tall and the sparkling detail really made me look like I have a waistline! PERFECTION!

Left: Maggie Sottero's Kendra looked alright but made me look shorter.
Right: Another Maggie named Felisha, I really like it, made me feel like a princess and it has POCKETS!!

Kacia: 5'6" She describes herself as pear-shaped and even though she's 20 and not engaged, we're pretty sure her ACTUAL wedding dress is one that we tried on today. It looks sooo amazing!!

Left: Maggie Sottero Bernadette. This is dress would look gorgeous on the right girl but did nothing to accentuate Kacia's curves. NEXT!
Right: Maggie Sottero's Rachel. THIS WILL BE HER GOWN!!! LOOK at how adorable this is with a cupcake crinoline underneath for amazing volume. The waist hits her exactly where she's tiny and it looks PHENOMENAL!

Left: A very Spanish look that is fitted all the way down the thigh. Again looks good, but not amazing.
Right: This is much better with the tight sparkly waistline and full skirt but still not my fav.

Rachel: 5'9" She describes herself as curvy but wait til you see the hourglass figure on this girl! Jayne Mansfield would be jealous!!

Left: Designs By Valerie, This is a beautiful gown but doesn't show off her tiny waist enough for my taste.
Right: I just LOVED Maggie Sottero's Jenna on her. It accentuates all of her amazing curves with a sweatheart neckline, tiny waist and very full taffeta skirt. LOVE!

Left: Ronald Joyce's Sandra. We loved this on her but she wasn't as in love. Sometimes even if the dress looks great, its not right for that girl and her personality.
Right: Maggie Sottero's Venecia has a fabulously textured full skirt and a very fashion forward detailing but I just wasn't in love with it today.

Here are a few just for fun shots!

I hope you enjoyed our pictures, I know we had a BLAST taking them!

Prom 2011- Super Bowl Style!

Hello lovely ladies!

It is Prom Season once again! Here at the Wedding Tree we are having too much fun helping the local high school girls find their perfect dress! And so I decided it was time to show off a few of the gorgeous dresses we have in the store! Plus, I just couldn't resist (it worked last week right?), I had to put in a plug for our NFC Champion Green Bay Packers as they progress to take on the Steelers in a fight for the Super Bowl title! So here are a few pretty dresses in Green and Yellow to get you geared up for not only the big game but for Prom Season too...

Aren't they all gorgeous? We hope to see you in here soon to try some on!

GO PACK GO!

Until Next Time!

((P.S. - I'm sure Rachel (out of spite for her precious Bears loss) will soon cover this up with a fabulous Prom tuxedo blog! If you're a bride I'm sure you'll be able to pick up some wedding pointers too... even though she's a yucky Bears fan, she's a fantastic tuxedo helper))

Soooo... with the end of one contest brings the beginning of a new and EXTREMELY exciting contest.... WARNING: if your groom-to-be is a football fanatic DO NOT let him read any farther ;)

The contest I am alluding to is... drum roll please....

I don't know about you ladies but I grew up here in Wisconsin as an extreme Packer Fan! I make sure to attend at least one game at Lambeau a year, sooooo... In honor of the rivalry match-up for the NFC Championship game, I have decided to do a Packers VS. Bears Wedding Day Showdown!

First Up... it's the Green and Gold!

Here we have some spectacular green and yellow Alfred Angelo dresses along with a gorgeous gown, matching vest, and two beautiful bouquets!

Don't these sweets look yummy? Here we have a gorgeous green and yellow cake, cupcakes, and jelly beans!

Lastly we have cute little green and yellow invitations along with an adorable Packer garter!

Next up is (and no offense to you silly bears fans) the yucky, icky Chicago Bears themed wedding...

Here are our cute little orange and blue dresses, I used the same dresses and another Nedrebo's vest along with some blue, orange, and white bouquets!

Yummy yummy in my tummy! Look at those sweet, sweet cupcakes, and that gorgeous cake and table decorations :)

Here we have adorable invites and a blue and orange Bears garter.

Well... I have to admit, even as a die-hard Packer fan, I tend to like the Bears color scheme better :( BUT... that DOES NOT mean the Bears are better... bring it on Chicago, because the Packers are taking you down! If you're a Bears fan and you disagree or you're a Packer fan and want to give a big shout out come see me this weekend for our BIG EVENT here at the Wedding Tree! If you come over and talk to me (I'll be the ringmaster in the white tuxedo... yes I said tuxedo) I might just slip you a few extra prize tickets for reading my blog... If you're a Packer fan I'll be more than happy... if you're a Bears fan I might have to harass you first ;)

Have a fantastic weekend and....

GO PACK GO!

Until Next Time,

~Kacia ;)
